The DC-MD-VA Community came out in the thousands today to join the rally and march for Venezuela in Lafayette Park in front of the White House. Signs and banners calling for no intervention in Venezuela were raised during the rally. Police presence was minimal but a bit ominous. Two members of some SWAT team wearing high-tech gear stood near the 3 police mounted on horses at the center of the Park.
The horses were turned away from the rally in the park when a group of loud demonstrators came marching up Pennsylvania Avenue toward the White House. The demonstrators were anti-Maduro/pro-US-intervention. The police stopped them before they reached the front of the White House. The marchers from the rally were able to march out of Lafayette Park without any intervention.
